Mr. Zhang Goes Shopping on Fifth Avenue
Mr. Zhang was traveling in New York for the first time. He wanted to buy some things as gifts for his family. He didn’t know where would be a good place to buy them, so he went to ask the hotel staff.
In the morning, the staff saw Mr. Zhang and said, “Sir, good morning, what can I help you with?” Mr. Zhang said, “I want to buy some things, where should I go?” The staff asked what he wanted to buy, and Mr. Zhang said he wanted to buy bags, clothes, and shoes.
The staff told him that Fifth Avenue has many stores, and he could go take a look there. Mr. Zhang asked if it was far, and the staff said it wasn’t far, and also gave him a map, showing him that the stores were right at this spot on the map.
Mr. Zhang was very happy and thanked the staff for the help. He took the map and walked to Fifth Avenue. There really were many stores there — bags, clothes, shoes, everything — and he found it very fun, buying a lot of things.
In the evening, when he returned to the hotel, Mr. Zhang saw that staff member again and said to her, “Thank you so much for today, Fifth Avenue was really great.” The staff smiled and said, “You’re welcome, this is what I should do.”
