空床
床頭櫃上的時鐘指向凌晨三點，我卻毫無睡意。這間臥室的寢具全是高級貨，羽絨被蓬鬆柔軟，枕頭套是純棉的，但躺上去總覺得空蕩蕩的。床墊太軟了，像陷進雲端，反而讓人不安。我翻身時，床頭櫃的木紋在月光下泛著冷光。
我換了全新的寢具，甚至把羽絨被抖了又抖，希望找到一絲暖意。枕頭套換了三次，還是覺得陌生。床墊的彈簧聲在寂靜中格外刺耳，連床頭櫃上的相框都歪了。這張床，這些寢具，都像在嘲笑我：一個人睡在雙人床上，羽絨被再厚也蓋不住孤獨。
最後我放棄了，把羽絨被疊好，枕頭套拆下來扔進洗衣籃。床墊的凹陷處還留著我的體溫，但床頭櫃上只剩下一個空杯子。這間臥室，這些寢具，終究只是擺設。

Chuángdiàn de tánhuáng shēng zài jìjìng zhōng géwài cì’ěr, lián chuángtóuguì shàng de xiàngkuàng dōu wāi le. Zhè zhāng chuáng, zhèxiē qǐnjù, dōu xiàng zài cháoxiào wǒ: yī gè rén shuì zài shuāngrén chuáng shàng, yǔróng bèi zài hòu yě gài bù zhù gūdú.
Zuìhòu wǒ fàngqì le, bǎ yǔróng bèi dié hǎo, zhěntou tào chāi xiàlái rēng jìn xǐyī lán. Chuángdiàn de āoxiàn chù hái liúzhe wǒ de tǐwēn, dàn chuángtóuguì shàng zhǐ shèngxià yī gè kōng bēizi. Zhè jiān wòshì, zhèxiē qǐnjù, zhōngjiū zhǐshì bǎishè.
The Empty Bed
The clock on the bedside table pointed to three in the morning, but I had no sleep at all. The bedding in this bedroom was all high-end; the duvet was fluffy and soft, the pillowcases were pure cotton, but lying on it always felt empty. The mattress was too soft, like sinking into a cloud, which instead made me uneasy. When I turned over, the wood grain of the bedside table glowed coldly in the moonlight.
I changed the bedding completely, even fluffed the duvet again and again, hoping to find a trace of warmth. I changed the pillowcases three times, but still felt unfamiliar. The sound of the mattress springs was especially harsh in the silence, and even the photo frame on the bedside table was crooked. This bed, this bedding, all seemed to mock me: sleeping alone on a double bed, no matter how thick the duvet, it couldn’t cover the loneliness.
Finally I gave up, folded the duvet, removed the pillowcases and threw them into the laundry basket. The indentation of the mattress still held my body heat, but on the bedside table there was only an empty cup. This bedroom, this bedding, after all, was just decoration.
