xīn xué qī

New semester

On the first day of the new semester, Li Ming walked into the university gate with his backpack. He was full of expectations for this university because it was his dream school. His major was computer science, which was very popular in the college.

These required courses were difficult, but he knew he had to study hard. Besides required courses, he also chose elective courses, such as introduction to artificial intelligence. The college teachers were strict, but their lectures were interesting.

One month later, Li Ming encountered difficulties in his major courses. He went to see the professor, who said: ‘University learning requires initiative. You need to spend more time on required courses and also explore other courses. ‘ Li Ming listened and began to adjust his study methods. He reviewed required courses every day and also went to the library to read professional books. There was a study group in his college where everyone helped each other and discussed course content.

At the end of the semester, Li Ming’s grades improved. He understood that university is not only about studying a major, but also about growing up. He thanked the college teachers and also thanked himself for choosing the courses. Finally, he decided to take more required courses next semester to make himself more solid. This university taught him: hard work never goes to waste.
